Bill Caillier opened University Place Radiator Service in 1979, renting a space in what was once a lumberyard. His experience as an accomplished metalworker helped him build a successful niche business in those early years. As his reputation grew, people began bringing their cars in for general repair — and Bill answered the call.

He added muffler and brake repair in the late 1980s, and the business continued to grow. Over the years, Bill and his wife Joyce added employees, opened a successful marine manifolds business, and continued to build on their reputation as a quality auto repair facility with a hometown feel. They consistently demonstrated a real passion for taking care of their customers.

When Ryan and Ashley Kentfield took over in 2015, they made a commitment to honor everything Bill and Joyce built — and build on it. The faces changed, but the promise didn't. University Place Auto Service is still a family business, still community-first, and still here for the long haul.
